VCV (Modular) Ltd is a joint venture between GrantRail and Corus Cogifer, the UK rail infrastructure businesses of Vossloh, Corus and Volker Wessels. The joint venture has secured a key partnership role with Network Rail to develop modular systems and processes for switch and crossing (S&C) replacement in line with Network Rail’s desire to introduce innovative techniques and pioneer S&C renewal in 8 hour possessions. From design, through manufacturing, logistics, transportation to installation, the future processes for replacement of S&C that will come from this initiative will reduce the disruption to trains and is another step in the continual drive to reduce the cost of renewals. VCV (Modular) Ltd were selected as the strategic partner in this programme, to facilitate world class engineering and logistics systems suitable for the UK environment. VCV will utilise the process of Systems Engineering to derive and validate the new modular solution to asset improvement in line with their aim to deliver exceptional quality and service to Network Rail.
